WAVES! on third trip to WA
The first week of October erupted in Western Australia, with a 20ft swell hitting the coast. Mark Visser and team met the swell in Cow Bombie and managed to jag a few fun ones.
The plan was to try out some of Mark’s new Webster paddle boards. Unfortunately the strong off-shore winds made it difficult to tow, let alone paddle in. Mark found himself on the receiving end many times, getting launched out of the water because he was riding a board that was too light heading into the wind.
Mark and a few of the guys called it quits and went into another bombie nearby that was smaller but out of the wind, allowing him to test out one of the big paddle in guns and some new tow boards.
"I couldn't really get into any of the waves as the wind was so strong off-shore and it kept blowing me off the top of the lips. I ended up getting worked a few times and I only got two short rides. The waves were fun to test out the tow boards though and it was a really good trip. My biggest regret was not going down to the 'Right'. Conditions weren't looking favourable but they shaped up to be unreal! There's always next time..."
This was the third trip Mark has taken to WA this year. So far we've scored 1 from 3!
